What exactly IS a bosshole?

  1. A person in a position of influence (owner, leader, manager, supervisor, lead, legacy employee (15 years+ with the organization) , highly-tenured employee (5 years+ with the organization) who is not a consistent role model of positive excellence. 
  1. A person in a position of influence who is a hypocrite of what they expect 
  1. A person in a position of influence who utilizes threat, intimidation, and fear to achieve results from others. 
  1. A person in a position of influence who does not recognize that their role is to coach, advocate, teach, mentor, and the provide tools for each employee to be successful.  
  1. Takes frustrations out on employees; vents to their employees because they see them as  subservient. The best managers are the opposite- they see their role is to be servant mentors to their employees.  
  1. Different sets of rules based on how much they like you, or someone else. Plays favorites. 
  1. A person in a position of influence who has little to no self-awareness, emotional intelligence.  
  1. A boss with unreasonable with expectations, discourteous, mean, disrespectable, inconsistent, partial, biased,   
  1. An individual that lacks the ability to effectively lead/manage due to any of the following:   
    • inability to lead by example due to lack of skills or experience
    • micromanagement 
    • ineffective 
    • aggressive or abusive communication 
    • inability to set clearly defined responsibilities 
    • disrespects boundaries 
    • someone that only cares about themselves.
